A stranded adult dwarf sperm whale (Kogia sima) was found along the coast of Brgy. Nauhang in Sipalay at around 2 a.m. of October 21, 2020, a report from the city said.
Found by fisherman Erenio Dequina, the whale was noted to be in distress. It was immediately assisted by local fishermen, barangay officials and the Philippine Coast Guard.
The cetacean was released at 11 a.m. on the same day.
