The roles of a city administrator include, but are not limited to, develop plans, strategies and implement the same upon approval thereof by the City Mayor, Benitez explained.

He will also assist in the coordination of the work of all the officials of the local government unit, establish and maintain a sound personnel program for the LGU, be in the frontline of the delivery of administrative support services especially those related to man-made and natural disasters and calamities and perform other duties and functions as may be presribed by law or ordinance.

Maghari, who currently serves as an executive assistant in Talisay City in addition to his duties as housing authority head, was also named by Benitez as part of his transition team.

In a letter dated May 30 to the Department of Interior and Local Government, Benitez informed the local government bureau the appointment of Mahari along with Councilor Al Victor Espino, former councilor Atty. Caesar Distrito, Atty. Romeo Carlos Ting, Jr. and Atty. Karol Joseph Chiu as member of his transition team.

The team will be head by Cong. Greg Gasatya as previously announced by Benitez.

The transition team was formed in accordance with DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2022-029, which requires local government units to organize a transition team to ensure a seamless transfer of power of the new and re-elected official on June 30.
