Mayor Maria Gina Lizares confirms today, April 21, that she tested positive of the coronavirus.
The mayor in a statement said that despite of her being conscious of her action and strict adherence to safety protocol she still caught the virus. According to the lady mayor she is suffering from mild symptoms but stressed that she is stable and active.
In a public post released by the city Public Information Office the mayor call on her constituents to be more careful and cooperative in its fight against COVID-19.
In a related development, the Sipalay government said that the mayor’s office will remain closed until all staff will have a negative RT-PCR test.
The government center of Sipalay is set to resume its operations tomorrow at 50% workforce.
