Rescuers in fatal ambulance crash quarantine

A total of 12 emeregency responders from 3 different groups in Bacolod were ordered to undergo a 14-day quarantine after one of the victim of the fatal ambulance crash was found out to be a COVID-19 positive.

Dr. Cris Sorongon of the Emergency Operations Center said the 12 responders were also swabbed.

The rescuers worked double time to extract a total of four victims inside an ambulance that crashed along Lacson-San Sebastian St after it was slammed by a sports utility vehicle.

The ambulance was supposed to transfer a COVID-19 patient when the accident took place.

Sorongon also reminded spectators that when in a similar accidents they should avoid assisting or distance from victims especially that it can not be acertain if the victims are COVID-free.
