Provincial budget up; city drops by 13%

Mayor Evelio Leonardia confirmed a drop in the proposed 2021 budget that he submitted to the city council. Leonardia said the proposed budget is P400 million lower as compared to the current budget which is at P3billion.

Leonardia, however clarified that while there were necessary cuts in most part of the proposed budget, the City Health Office will not be impacted since the health concern is the primary priority because of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, in Capitol, the provincial board approved on first reading the P4.4 billion proposed budget of Gov. Eugenio Lacson. This is 7% higher as compared to this year’s budget.

The 2021 proposed provincial budget will focus on economic recovery and in ensuring public health and safety following the global pandemic.
