The San Carlos City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (SCCADAC) conducts another surprise drug test today, November 26, among both permanent and job order (JO) employees of the City Engineering and the Public Market & Slaughterhouse departments.

SCCADAC Secretariat Ana Liza Macaraya Maranda, Legal Assistant II of the City Legal Office said that they are targeting 87 subjects for today’s batch aside from the earlier testing done for the first batch (71 subjects) of the engineering department last Nov. 20, 2020.

Maranda said they are doing this to cleanse the local government of employees who are involved in the said illegal substance since the city is advocating a drug free workplace in accordance with the mandate of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the city ordinance and the Civil Service Commission.

She cited that so far, every drug testing yielded 1 positive of the use of illegal substance.

The said activity is already the 6th drug testing within this year. Those who tested positive will undergo confirmatory testing while JOs will be automatically cut off from work.
