Former Negros solon Charlie Cojuangco passes away

The former congressman of the 4th District of Negros Occidental, Charlie Cojuangco passed away this morning, his wife China Jocson confirmed on a post on Facebook.

She wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that we regret to inform you that my husband, Claudia and Jaime’s father, Carlos “Charlie” Cojuangco, has passed away.Details of the wake and interment to follow. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.”

Charlie, the son of the late Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco is the incumbent congressman of the first district of Tarlac.

Jocson did not however disclosed Cojuangco’s caused of death. He was 58.

The House of Representatives, led by Speaker Lord Allan Velasco, in a statement said they mourn the demise of its dear Member, Representative Carlos O. Cojuangco. “Our heartfelt prayers and sympathies to the family and loved ones that he has left behind,” it added.

Cojuangco served the people of the 1st district of Tarlac during the 17th and 18th Congresses. He also served as Congressman of the 4th district of Negros Occidental during the 11th, 12th, and 13th Congresses.

In October 28, 2021, Bilyonaryo.com reported that Cojuangco survived a crash during a circuit race in Clark on October 26, 2021 after suffering brain aneurysm and crashed his race car.
