Police authorities who responded to the crime scene, which is just a stone throw away from Casino Filipino, said Atty. Danny Pondevilla sustained a gunshot on his head that led to his death.

Pondevilla was sitting on the driver’s seat of his Honda CRV, which was parked right outside the entrance of Bazket Bacolod, when he was shot by an unidentified gunman. The suspect used a motorcycle to flee the crime scene.

Police recovered an empty shell of a.45 caliber revolver as well as a slug from an unidentified firearm.

Police are still probing the incident and the motive behind the killing, Police Station 2 Chief PLt. Jonito Pastrana said.

A female executive assistant of Pondevilla, who was last seen with him, was already secured by the police for a paraffin test.

Pondevilla reportedly came from L’ Fisher Hotel for a Christmas gathering.

Pondevilla took over as CENECO’s acting general manager on December 2, 2020, following a directive from the National Electrification Administration (NEA). He is currently the general manager of Northern Negros Electric Cooperative Inc.
