EOC recommends shop closure in Art District viral video

The Emergency Operations Center of Bacolod is recommended the closure of establishments at the Art District that were involved in hosting an event which failed to observed minimum health protocols against COVID-19.

In a statement released by the City Public Information Office that EOC said that they are recommending the closure until further action by concerned agencies and offices.

A complaint was lodged before the Department of Interior and Local Government in Region 6, while EOC conducted a preliminary investigation of the incident.

The EOC further added: “We admonish the management of the Art District and their respective tenants to strictly adhere to the protocols and standards set by the city of Bacolod, the Local and National IATF pertaining to our coordinated efforts against COVID-19.”

The organizers of the VIVA Excon who appeared before the EOC has previously denied involvement in the allegedly party that took place at the same location.

The video, which went viral on social media, showed people partying without facemask and failed to observed social distancing.
