The Municipality of E.B. Magalona and the City of Victorias are strengthening their partnership through knowledge sharing.
On July 17, a delegation from Victorias City, led by Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez, visited the Asenso Building at the Public Plaza in E.B. Magalona to learn about the municipality’s best practices.
Mayor Marvin Malacon and several heads of the municipal government presented a number of initiatives that have been successful in E.B. Magalona, including its municipal planning and development office, tourism office, and liga ng mga barangay.
“We’re connected as neighbors, so we would like to share each other’s best practices,” said Benitez. “We believe that by learning from each other, we can both improve our services to our constituents.”
Malacon said that E.B. Magalona always looks up to Victorias City as its “big brother” in terms of development. He assured Benitez of his full support for future plans on partnership.
The conduct of knowledge sharing was also part of Benitez’s role as president of the Association of Chief Executives (ACE) of Negros Occidental.
The meeting was also attended by representatives from the Victorias City Government, including City Planning and Development Officer Evangeline Alo, City Tourism Officer Marian Rica Calseña, City Information Officer Joy Famini, and Liga ng mga Barangay president Richard Julius Sablan.
