The Department of Labor and Employment Western Visayas is rolling out its additional cash assistance program for the displaced workers in the region.

In his post on Facebook, Bacolod’s lone district Congressman Greg Gasataya said that the labor bureau has notified him of an additional P157 million budget allocation for those who were not included in the initial batch of the P5,000 single cash assistance.

According to Gasataya the priority of the COVID-19 Adjustment Measure Program (CAMP) are the micro, small and medium enterprise that applied for the cash assistance before April 15 but were excluded on the initial releasing.

The program will cover workers who were hardly hit by the pandemic including probationary, project, seasonal, contractual, and casual employees in private health institutions, culture and arts, creative industries, broadcast, construction, public transportation, trade and industry, cooperatives and other sectors.

Meanwhile, a group of Zumba instructors in the city recently received a cash assistance from the office of Gasataya. These trainers have lost their jobs since the pandemic, after the government ordered the cancellation of gym and outdoor activities.
