Governor Bong Lacson led the distribution of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Pay outs to about a hundred beneficiaries from the cities of Silay and Talisay, yesterday, October 29.
TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.
The beneficiaries are displaced workers such as unemployed, displaced OFW, disadvantaged workers such as laborers, farmers, solo parent, vendors, tricycle drivers, and fisherfolks.
They received P5,925 (Php 395/day for 15 days) each in separate distributions in both LGUs, respectively.
Source of Fund is from the Legislative allocation of Senator Migz Zubiri downloaded to the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, coursed thru the Dept. of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and implemented by the Provincial PESO in partnership with the LGU PESO, City Mayors and Administrator’s Offices.
The initial P2 Million allocation was divided to four LGUs namely, Manapla (100 beneficiaries), Toboso (100 beneficiaries), Silay (50 beneficiaries) and Talisay (50 beneficiaries).
