The corpse of a 67-year-old woman who was buried Sunday, August 28, at Kabankalan City Public Cemetery was forcibly taken out from grave and was removed from her casket, Lt. Col. Raymond Cruz, the city police chief said.
According to Cruz, the caretaker found the body without clothes on August 29. But no suspect has been identified.
Police investigators speculated that the suspects were hunting for valuables on the corpse’s body, but the family said that no items were buried with the dead.
The family decided to rebury the body rather than have it autopsied. Police were unable to determine if the deceased was raped after it was found naked.
