The construction will cover land development and the construction of the dietary, laundry, morgue and other ancillary buildings of the hospital, said Gasataya. It has an initially budget of P200 million.

According to the congressman, bidding for Phase 1 of the project has already been completed, and bidding for Phase 2, which will involve the construction of the main hospital facility, will begin soon. It will cost another P250 million.

The Department of Public Works and Highways is expected to provide the final rendering of the hospital building by the end of the month, Gasataya added.

Gasataya said that with the Department of Health’s recommendation to locate the City Health Office in another property, the 4-hectare hospital site in Vista Alegre may be turned into a medical complex with a dialysis facility, molecular laboratory, and other auxiliary services.

According to Gasataya, the DOH explained that the CHO is for preventive health services while the hospital is for curative care, hence they should be situated in separate areas.
