A total of 60 beneficiaries received a cash grant of P3,000 each from the the Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CENECO) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as part of the Pantawid Liwanag 2 program.
The cash payout was held yesterday, December 10, at the CENECO Mabini Main Office.
The identified beneficiaries were from the cities of Bago, Silay, Talisay, and municipalities of Murcia and Don Salvador Benedicto.
The subsidy program targets poor Filipino electricity consumers in the countryside whose primary sources of income and livelihoods have been severely disrupted by the coronavirus crisis. The program was launched by DSWD, in coordination with One EC-MCO Movement, Association of Philippine Electric Cooperatives (APEC) and CENECO.
