The Negros Occidental Bikers Club and other bike enthusiasts joined the nationwide simultaneous “Bike for Peace and Justice”campaign, Saturday, July 17.
The cyclists pedal from the Murcia Public Plaza going to Brgy Damsite where they participated in “Tree-planting for Peace” activity and went back to Murcia Public Plaza for the signing of the pledge of peace covenant.
At the turned over of signed manifesto bike enthusiasts showed strong condemnation of the atrocities perpetrated by the terrorist Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA).
The event marked the 40th day since the Absalon cousins were killed in Masbate City through landmines by members of the communist party last June 6, 2021.
The rebel group claimed responsibility for the said crime where Kieth Absalon, 21, was cycling with his 40-year-old cousin, Nolven when an anti-personnel mine suddenly exploded by the roadside which caused their death.
