The Philippine Army’s 15th Infantry (Molave Warrior) Battalion is actively molding the next generation of community leaders to spearhead local peace initiatives.

A total of 49 young Sipalaynons from seven barangays completed the three-day Sipalay Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) 2026, held from May 20 to 22 at Driftwood Village, Barangay Nauhang.

Under the theme “Building Peaceful Communities Through Youth Leadership,” the military-led initiative aims to position the youth as primary stakeholders in nation-building and conflict prevention. The summit is a core component of the Army’s Peace, Law Enforcement, and Development Support (PLEDS) Operations, designed to counter vulnerability to radicalization by fostering civic responsibility, patriotism, and social responsibility among young citizens.

Organized in partnership with the City Government of Sipalay, the event drew participants from various villages, including Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs).

LTC Roberto S. Maduli, Commanding Officer of the 15IB, led the military delegation alongside Mayor Maria Gina Lizares, highlighting a unified civilian-military front dedicated to youth development.
