The City of Bago was one of the local government units to receive a Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) from the Department of Interior and Local Government, with a P7 million incentive fund.

Mayor Nicholas Yulo received the award on December 15 at a ceremony held at the Manila Hotel, with Sec. Benhur Abalos presenting the award.

Aside from the fund incentive, which the city can use to fund local development initiatives, the city also received the SGLG marker from DILG.

Bago City was one of 60 component cities nationwide to receive the award. DILG set the following criteria for the award: financial administration and sustainability; disaster preparedness; social protection and sensitivity; health compliance and responsiveness; sustainable education; business-friendliness and competitiveness. It also measured the city’s programs for safety, peace and order; environmental management; tourism, heritage development, culture and arts; and youth development.

Also present at the awarding ceremony were Bago DILG CLGOO Mia Gatilogo, SGLG focal person Riza Segovia, and Mayor’s Office staff Joe Jumabong and Allan Señeres.
