Bacolod City, Negros Occidental— Over 1,500 employees from 2 major call centers in Bacolod received their initial dose of Sinovac vaccine against COVID-19 at the weekend mass vaccination program rolled out by the COVID-19 Vaccination Council led by Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

With this success, Leonardia said the city is also looking at the idea of activating a vaccination at night to accommodate more call center workers who are not able to catch the day time vaccination due to conflict in their work schedules.

“I know how important is our BPO industry to the economic life of the city that is why we are planning to target evening and graveyard shift call center agents”, Leonardia said.

City Administrator Em Ang, who also chairs the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) said that the graveyard shift vaccination drive is set to start within the week and the onsite vaccination of the various call center employees and personnel will start at 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM.

The mayor added that city through the CoVaC is continuously finding more ways to bring the vaccination against COVID-19 closer to the community by launching a mobile and drive-thru vaccinations.
