PLDT and Smart have reestablished network coverage in over 98% of Bacolod City, bringing restoration of network services to over 90% of Visayas cities and municipalities affected by Super Typhoon Odette.

Earlier, the group had reported the full restoration of Antique, Iloilo, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar and Western Samar.

Network services also continue to provide vital communications links for most of Mindanao, with the restoration of 98% of wireless services and 99% of fixed services. Coverage includes Dinagat Islands and Siargao—two of the badly-hit areas in the region. In Palawan, 83% of wireless services and 90% of fixed services have been restored.

PLDT and Smart technical teams are working hard to reconnect the rest of the storm-hit communities, amid commercial power interruptions and clearing operations that may affect service delivery.

The group also continues to provide Libreng Tawag (free calls) and Charging stations, free public WiFi services, and free SIMs to reconnect typhoon survivors with their loved ones. PLDT Sales and Services Centers and Smart Stores have likewise resumed operations in Odette-hit provinces, except for stores located in malls that have remained closed, to serve the needs of customers.

Together with the PLDT-Smart Foundation, PLDT and Smart have also provided much needed relief in the form of food packs, drinking water, and gensets to communities that need them most.
