Army secured P12M UCT assistance to COVID affected families

In Isabela town, the 62nd Infantry of thr Philippine Army together with Isabela Peace Law Enforcement Development Support (PLEDS) Cluster successfully assisted the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) together with PNP-Isabela in the implementation of the Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) provided by the DSWD Field Office VI in partnership with the Landbank of the Philippines and Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program III to grant UCT transfer.

62IB troopers and PNP personnel ensure the security and the implementation of social distancing and other DOH protocols with regards to the prevention, control and mitigation of the spread of COVID-19. The distribution of UCT was conducted into two (2) clusters. On October 17-18 and October 24-25, 2020 which benefitted 3,486 families from 30 barangays of Isabela and received a total cash subsidy amounting to PhP12,549,600.00.

Lieutenant Colonel Melvin Flores, Acting Commanding Officer of 62IB said, “I appreciate the dedication of the members of our Isabela Task Force-ELCAC for their resolute action to address the need of their constituents. This is a manifestation of the Whole-of-Nation-Approach.”

The cash assistance intended for the people was successfully implemented because of our collective effort,he added.
