Army receives 400 applicants in Negros Occ

The Philippine Army has received around 400 applications from Negrense who are interested to join the armed forces.

According to the 303rd Brigade, applicants took the Armed Forces of the Philippines Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) examination at the Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) Alijis Extension, Brgy Alijis, Bacolod City from July 17-1.

The 400 applicants took the AFPSAT Examination with the following breakdown: Officer Candicate Course (OCC) – 172 and Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) – 228. The Army hopeful applicants came from different cities and municipalities in Negros Occidental to include the Lone District of Bacolod City. These young individuals took the challenge of answering the AFPSAT questions consists of verbal, numerical and abstract reasoning.

Brigadier General Inocencio Pasaporte, Brigade Commander of 303rd Infantry Brigade said he is overwhelmed that these young Negrense applicants were inspired and motivated by the good deeds and quality of service that the Philippine Army has exemplified throughout the years.

The Philippine Army will select the best and the brightest aspirants that will meet the quota for calendar year 2023.

Their efforts and dedication shows how determined and committed they are of attaining their dreams to join the Army, Pasaporte said.

They must be aware of the many sacrifices in the service, yet, they decided to apply and start the journey of becoming a soldier who is always ready to uphold the Army’s mandate of serving the people and securing the land, he added.
