Bacolod City, Negros Occidental— Mayoralty bet Albee Benitez cautioned Bacoleños not to believe news that he is shouldering the payment of utility bills of residents in this city who cannot afford to settle their account with the utility providers.

Benitez in a Facebook post said any news circulating on social media that his camp will settle utility bills is fake news.

He said: “This propaganda obviously came from persons or entities with the malicious intent of doing harm to the good image and increasing public support given to Albee by Bacolodnons, without regard for the harm they are doing to their fellow Bacolodnons by giving them false hope and misdirection.”

The mayoralty candidate added that such acts are disgusting and abhorent and I encourage everyone to ignore them and focus on what is REAL- the betterment and improvement of Bacolod and the welfare of its citizens.

What Benitez promised though is to fix the spaghetti wires around the city if he wins the mayoralty race.

The billionaire businessman said he vows to transform Bacolod into a progressive-looking city free from unsightly, messy, and accident-causing spaghetti wires.

According to him cluttered wires, aside from being unsightly, are ‘accidents waiting to happen’ hence should be immediately sought permanent solution by the city government. It is also a dangerous fire hazard to residents in major subdivision, sighting the recent incident in Eroreco where a driver whose truck got entangled in ‘spaghetti wires’.
