The municipality of Cauayan in Negros Occidental has received P4.3 million from the provincial government to help fund for its nutrition program during the ceremonial turnover held at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City, January 3, led by Provincial Administrator lawyer Rayfrando Diaz.
The Community-based Nutrition Program is being implemented in the barangays aims to ensure that Negrense children receive the necessary nutrition during their developmental stage to prevent the negative and irreversible effects of malnutrition.
Atty. Diaz said that the administration of Gov. Bong Lacson and Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer looks forward to more healthy communities in the whole province through an improved nutrition program.
He said that last year, the province’s nutrition program started in the towns of Don Salvador Benedicto and Calatrava, through the Provincial Health Office, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, and the Dept. of Social Welfare and Development, which led the implementation of the program.
The recipient barangays were Brgys. Tuyom, Lumbia, Sura, Tambad, Mambugsay, Caliling, Linaon, Talacdan, Camindangan, Inayawan, Poblacion, Tiling, Man-uling, Camalanda-an, Abaca, and Molobolo.
