PNP chaplain service director visits NegOcc police

Police Brigadier General Jason Ortizo, the Director of the Philippine National Police Chaplain Service held his pastoral visit to Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) at Camp Alfredo M Montelibano Sr., Bacolod City on February 12.

The PNP Chaplain Service (PNP CS) is a National Administrative Support Unit of the national police particularly in charge of all the organization’s non- sectarian religious activities. This unit composed of priests, pastors and imams in the police service.

Ortizo, who is the first Director of the PNP CS to hold the rank of Police Brigadier General was warmly welcomed by PCOL Leo Pamittan, NOCPPO Acting Provincial Director and the men and women of NOCPPO in his visit. He was accorded with a foyer honor.

After which, he talked to the men where he showcased the accomplishments of the Squad Weekly Interactive Meeting (SWIM), a priority program of the PNP in partnership with religious leaders from different affiliations. The program serves as a preventive measure helping cops avoid illegal activities, while developing good relationship with God. In his message, he reminded the personnel to treat well the life coaches, these are religious leaders who volunteered to be the facilitators during the conduct of weekly SWIM.
