The city of Bacolod and the entire province of Negros Occidental will be placed under a much stricter quarantine status effective July 1 as announced by Malacañang last night, June 28.
The Inter-Agency Task Force has recommended to place the city and the province under General Community Quarantine from July 1 up until 31.
This would result to closure of entertainment and recreational venues, amusement parks, playgrounds, traditional cockfighting and cockpits.
Meanwhile, public transportation are permitted to operate in its maximum capacity, however, it is yet to be known if there will be cancellation of ferry operations between Bacolod and Iloilo.
In the same announcement, Malacañang said the city of Iloilo, and provinces of Iloilo and Negros Oriental will remain under modified enhance community quarantine (MECQ) until July 15.
As of yesterday, the Department of Health reported that Bacolod City has 1,859 active COVID-19 cases and Negros Occidental has 1,923.
