City starts clearing garbage-filled Mambuloc creek

The Bacolod City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and the Mambuloc clearing team have started a massive excavation and dredging of the Mambuloc creek with the use of the newly acquired Hidromek Amphibious Excavator.

The deployment of the amphibious excavator also aims to address the unimaginable garbage accumulation in the creek due to improper disposal.

According to DRRMO, this pile of garbage creates flooding in some parts of the city during rainy days and gets worsen when typhoon comes.

The clearing operation was spearheaded by Executive Assistant III and DRRMO Cluster head Jose Maria Vargas, City Legal Officer II Atty. Reuben Sabig, Law CLO- Head for operations Dante Medecillo, Engr. Jun Brey of the CEO, Brgy. Captain Johanna Magallona and Kgwd. Jojo Dewara of Brgy. 8, PCMS Alex Disomangcop, PSSG Roldan Arroyo, PSMG Kenneth Ronquillo, PSMG Ian Federez, PEMS Karyl Mugemulta, and PSMS Jet Pirote of the Law Enforcement Unit.
