Capitol aawards nearly P1M cash incentives to Palaro medalists

Negrense athletes who showcased their exceptional talent at the recently concluded Palarong Pambansa 2025 were recognized and rewarded today by the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, receiving a total of P941,500 in cash incentives.

The incentive distribution ceremony took place at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City, led by Governor Bong Lacson, alongside Department of Education Negros Island Region (NIR) Director Dr. Ramir Uytico and OIC Assistant Regional Director Anthony Liobet.

A total of 18 gold, 20 silver, and 21 bronze medals were brought home by the Negrense contingent from the national games. Each gold medalist was awarded ₱10,000 per medal, while silver medalists received ₱7,000, and bronze medalists were given ₱4,500.

Beyond the athletes, their dedicated coaches and trainers were also granted cash incentives for their vital role in the medalists’ success. Furthermore, athletes who set new records in their respective sporting events were honored with additional cash rewards, highlighting their outstanding achievements.

The Palarong Pambansa 2025, held in Ilocos Norte from May 24 to 31, saw Western Visayas secure an impressive third place in the overall championship.
