Residents of Bacolod can expect some much-needed relief from the water shortage as Baciwa-PrimeWater, finalizes the connection between the Bocal-Bocal Spring and the its break pressure tank.
In a Facebook post, Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said that by May 30, barring any unforeseen issues like pipe leaks or clogs, an additional 5 million liters per day (MLD) will be injected into the city’s pipelines through the Bocal-bocal spring.
Currently, the disinfection processes are underway to ensure the water’s potability, the mayor said in an update.
The additional water supply from the Bocal-Bocal Spring will improve water supply in the Villa Angela Subdivision, Villamonte, Barangays 27, 28, 29, and 30, & Eroreco.
The mayor previously pointed out the significant drop in Bacolod’s water supply, going from 70 MLD to just 50 MLD.
To address the water crisis in recent weeks, the city government deployed water trucks for distribution and rationing in various affected barangays.
