A visionary master plan is transforming the 30-hectare area surrounding the St. James the Greater Parish along the Circumferencial Rd in Talisay City.

The conceptual development as shared by  Palafox will celebrate the existing parish, a stunning replica of the famed church in Medjugorje, Bosnia.

The plan also integrates seamlessly with existing institutions like schools, the Negros Occidental Language and Information Center, and nearby residential communities.

The development prioritizes a balanced and sustainable approach, said Palafox.

Different land uses will work together to create a space that caters to the needs of the community while maximizing the land’s potential for future growth.

Commercial spaces, residential areas, and recreational facilities will all be carefully integrated, fostering a vibrant environment that supports the surrounding communities and the environment.

A Welcoming Destination for All
The development will be a welcoming hub for locals, religious pilgrims, tourists, and even passersby.

A network of tree-lined walkways will lead visitors directly to the St. James the Greater Parish, making it the centerpiece of the entire project.  Riverfront parks will offer stunning views, inviting people to relax and enjoy food kiosks, playgrounds, and bike trails.

Extensive green spaces will enhance the air quality and create a more comfortable microclimate.  Open spaces like parks and esplanades will provide ample opportunities for leisure activities and community gatherings, Palapox shared.

The master plan extends beyond leisure and commerce, Palafox added.

Essential community facilities like a mixed-use transport terminal, a market, a hospital, a fire station, and even a museum are all part of the vision.  These facilities will serve not just the residents within the development, but the surrounding communities as well, strengthening the social fabric of Talisay.
