8 NPAs surrender to authorities

Eight more members of the New People’s Army composed of an NPA Leader of Central Negros Front (CN1) and 7 Yunit Militia Members voluntary surrendered to Guihulngan City Task Force ELCAC headed by Mayor Carlo Reyes and the joint teams of 62nd Infantry Battalion and Guihulngan City PNP at Guihulngan City TF-ELCAC Office, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental over the weekend.

The 303rd Brigade identified the 8 who voluntarily surrendered with their firearms as: Maximo N Alvino, @RR, Squad member, SDG Platoon, CN1, KR-NCBS with one (1) Cal. 38mm revolver; Romeo Barbaquil @SAMMY, Yunit Militia member, surrendered two (2) Cal.357mm; Allan Alpas Estrada, YM member of Brgy Buenavista, Guihulngan City, NOR, surrendered one (1) Cal. 38mm revolver; Marlou E Estrada, YM member; Reynaldo B Delantes, Mariano C Libaton @MOLOY, YM member; Arlita P Jabalde @VIOLA, YM member and Bernaldo V Besario, YM member all of Brgy Buenavista, Guihulngan City, NOR surrendered without firearms.

Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander lauded the aggressive efforts of the City Task Force- ELCAC of Guihulngan City who made possible the entire safe and voluntary surrendered of the NPA personality including 7 Yunit Militia Members with the assistance of the joint AFP-PNP troops in Guihulngan City.

“I call on the remaining members of the NPAs in Central Negros to return to the folds of the law and to abandon futility of the armed struggle. Take advantage of the E-CLIP being offered by our government which will be of great help for your return to live a normal life,” said Pasaporte.

The surrenderees were properly and safely turned over to Guihulngan City PNP for custody while under investigation.
