The National Privacy Commission (NPC) is closely monitoring a possible data breach at S&R Membership Shopping. This comes after Robinsons Land and Toyota both confirmed data breaches to the NPC on June 1 and May 14, 2024, respectively.

The data breach was reportedly exposed last June 6, but S&R has not confirmed nor deny such data threat.

According to NPC companies are required by law to notify affected individuals and the NPC within 72 hours of discovering a breach.

The NPC emphasizes its commitment to protecting personal data and enforcing data privacy regulations. The Commission is actively investigating the reported breaches and will take appropriate action to ensure accountability.

The NPC encourages individuals who believe their data may have been compromised in any recent breaches to contact the respective companies’ data protection officers and report the incident to the NPC.

S&R, known for offering premium imports at low prices through memberships, recently opened a warehouse club in Bacolod City, expanding its reach across the Philippines. As of May 2024, they operate 27 branches nationwide, with 23 in Luzon, 2 in Visayas, and 2 in Mindanao.
