A total of 106 families from 19 barangays affected by Super Typhoon Egay in Bago City received P10,000 each in housing assistance from the Office of the President through the National Housing Authority (NHA) on Wednesday, July 24.

The distribution ceremony took place at the Manuel Y. Torres Memorial Coliseum and Cultural Center.

The financial aid was provided under the government’s Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP), designed to support NHA housing beneficiaries who have suffered from calamities. In addition to the cash assistance, recipients also received food packs.

Vice Mayor Ramon Torres expressed gratitude to the Office of the President, NHA, and Senator Bong Go for extending help to the affected Bagonhons. He expressed optimism that the aid would contribute significantly to the families’ recovery efforts.

Aside from the financial assistance, Senator Bong Go’s office provided snacks and sports equipment to the beneficiaries.

Joining Vice Mayor Torres at the event were Riza Mea Seva from Senator Bong Go’s office, NHA Engineer Jagger Gamao, and Community Support Services Chief Marrisa Murillo, among other guests.
