A breast cancer awareness talk was held at the Bacolod City Government Center in celebration of the Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Present in the event are Councilor Celia Flor, Councilor Simple Distrito, Councilor Kalaw Puentevella and City Health Officer, Doctor Ma. Carmela Gensoli together with Doc. Rose Joy Vallega who is the guest speaker of the talk.
Attendees are the Barangay Health Workers (BHW) of the city and women employees of BCGC.
Vallega discussed the importance of having knowledge on breast cancer, its risk factors and ways to prevent it. She stressed out that getting tested and screened on breast cancer is an important thing to do since breast cancer is the second common type of cancer in our country and Bacolod City has the most breast cancer cases.
Furthermore, she talked about how lifestyle and eating habits can affect a person in getting this type of cancer.
Gensoli in her opening message also said that prevention will always play a huge role in our holistic health.
