The Barangay Granada has once again proven its dominance in the MassKara Festival, claiming the championship title for the second time in a row.
Their spectacular performance along Araneta Street and the Paglaum Sports Complex earned them over P1 million in prize money.
The victory marks Granada’s sixth overall MassKara Festival championship, solidifying their status as a powerhouse in the competition. Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez congratulated the winning barangay and all participants for their incredible performances.
In addition to the grand prize, Barangay Granada swept the minor awards, including Best in Music, Best Theme and Concept, Best Mask and Costume, Bacolod Yuhum Choice Award, and Best in Connectivity in Motion Todo na Dito Award.
Choreographer Segundo Jesus “Panoy” Cabalcar Jr. was honored with the Pillar of Dance Excellence Award for his significant contributions to the dance community.
Barangay Granada Captain Armando Vito expressed his pride and gratitude for the hard work and dedication of the performers, the barangay council, sponsors, and the entire community. He also acknowledged the legacy of former Barangay Captain Alfredo Talimodao Jr., who laid the foundation for the barangay’s success in the MassKara Festival.
As a two-time grand slam champion, Barangay Granada will be taking a break from the competition next year.
First runner up was Barangay Bata that won P500,000 and second runner up was Barangay 12 that bagged P300,000.
Other participating barangays were 35, 18, 21 and 6.
