Gov. Eugenio Lacson aired his concern about the recent increase of COVID-19 cases in Bacolod after noting that 8 out of 41 patients who were positive of the virus were from towns and cities outside of the capital.

The governor said that these individuals have been commuting in going to their workplace and may have impact on the safety of the general public. But despite his concern, the governor is confident that Bacolod is properly managing these cases.

Based on records obtained by the provincial government of the 8, 2 each are from cities of Bago and Silay, one each residing in cities of Victorias and Cadiz, and one each from the towns of Valladolid and EB Magalona.

According to Bacolod City Emergency Operations Center executive chair Em Ang all 41 who tested positive were now in quarantine facilities while their close contacts are currently on home quarantine pending availability of their result.

The EOC first detected the clustering of cases in Transcom last week after over a dozen of employees tested positive of the virus.
