Youtube terminates ABS-CBN News YT channel

[UPDATE: Hours before its primetime newscast, ABS-CBN News’ Youtube channel is back online]

After amassing 10 million of Youtube subscribers, ABS-CBN News & Current Affairs’ official youtube channel was reportedly terminated by Youtube, today.

Netizens noticed today that live feed of some of the media giant’s news program over its website, news.abs-cbn.com, which is link to its YT channel is no longer appearing on the frontpage of its site.

Upon further verification and search on Youtube, the news channel of both ABS-CBN and ANC are no longer available and will only give you a black screen with a note ‘video unavailable’.

Youtube says the account was terminated for a violation of Youtube’s Terms of Services.

In an official statement, the network confirmed the problem in accessing their official youtube channel. The network said it is currently working closely with Youtube to resolve the issue.

In the meantime, users are advised to catch the livestreams and news reports on Teleradyo Youtube account.

In August of this year, ABS-CBN News reached 10 million subscribers, making it as the leading news channel in the Philippines to have the greatest influence on the online video streaming platform.

After losing its franchise, the network has shifted on Youtube and Facebook for the live streaming of the network’s primetime newscast, TV Patrol. The live newscast airs in full lenght, including its advertisements.
