The LGBTQIA++ community in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental is gearing up for a vibrant celebration of the annual PRIDE March that will take place this weekend, June 29.
Hundreds of members and allies will gather at Bacolod Plaza at 3:00 PM, marking the grand finale of a month-long series of events that championed unity and pride. The colorful parade will wind its way through the heart of the city, Lacson Street, culminating in a spectacular display of self-expression and celebration at the Provincial Capitol Lagoon and Park.
This event serves not only as a joyous occasion but also as a powerful platform for the LGBTQIA++ community to advocate for equality and acceptance.
According to organizers, employees from Concentrix and Teleperformance, two of the city’s biggest call center employers known for their strong diversity and equality programs, will also be joining the march.

This event serves not only as a joyous occasion but also as a powerful platform for the LGBTQIA++ community to advocate for equality and acceptance, the organizers added.
As part of the month-long celebration, Negros PRIDE, in partnership with Megaworld, hosted the Deka-deka-Duh extravagant at The Upper East, Weekend Night Market last June 21. The event honored diversity and equality, standing proud with Negros PRIDE.
Empowering drag artists and cultivating a safer space for the community, the Negros PRIDE also orchestrated Drag University, a workshop last June 19 at Lunar Art, Cafe, and Bar for Negros Occidental-based drag queens.
Drag University’s speakers, Celestia, Moi, Jaundi Lierre, and Seraphine, offered valuable insights and expanded on the advocacies of the performance art by tackling lessons such as “Herstory: How Drag is Political,” “Drag 101: Self, Style, Substance,” “I’m a S.T.A.R.,” and “The Drag Bible (Ethics of Drag).”
X.yber’s Zayden and X: Balanì also raised the rainbow colors high with their Xpecial Performances at the 𝘿𝙚𝙠𝙖-𝙙𝙪𝙝 𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙯𝙖.
