The Tropical Depression “LANNIE” made a landfall in the vicinity of Guihulngan, Negros Oriental (10.1°N, 123.2°E) at 4PM today, with intensity maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 55 km/h, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The state weather bureau said that strong winds with occasional gusts will be experienced within any of the areas where Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal #1 is in effect during the passage of the tropical depression. This may generally cause up to very light damage to structures and vegetation, PAGASA added.

The whole of Western Visayas, including the northern and central portions of Negros Oriental (Bais City, Mabinay, City of Bayawan, Basay, City of Tanjay, Manjuyod, Bindoy, Ayungon, Tayasan, Jimalalud, La Libertad, City of Guihulngan, Vallehermoso, Canlaon City), Cebu, and Bohol will remain under Signal No. 1.

PAGASA expects Lannie to exit the Philippines Area of Responsibility by Thursday.
