A tricycle driver who was jailed for illegal possession of firearms, and currently on probation, was shot to death by a riding-in-tandem in CEGASCO, Brgy. Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, yesterday morning, January 6.
Witnesses said that the 54-year-old victim identified as Noel Peraren was driving his tricycle along the circumferential road when he was shot by a gunman on board a motorcycle.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim even tried to escape his assailant by accelerating his speed, however, according to witnesses the suspect on board their motorcycle followed him closely until the victim lost control of his tricycle and crashed in a sari-sari store. He sustained gunshot wounds and died on-the-spot.
Recovered from the crime scene were 6 empty shells of 45 caliber revolver.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the killing.
