The Technical Education Skills and Development Authority in Negros Occidental denied that its office is connected to John Paul Insular, an alleged trainer apprehended in a drug operation in Talisay recently.
In a one-page letter signed by TESDA Provincial Director Bayani Gofredo, he clarified that Mr. John Paul Insular is not an employee of TESDA nor a trainer of TESDA Technology Institutions (TMs), but a TVET trainer in one of its registered schools.
He added: “TESDA strongly supports the government intensified campaign against illegal drugs. In fact, our office made it clear and emphasized to partners. assessors, trainers and employees that any acts contrary to such effort is not tolerated.”
But while his office is not directly associated with Insular, he said that he will call the attention of the training center where Insular is currently employed.
Insular, 39, was nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Zone 2 last October 21. He was arrested together with his cohort Joenefer Juson, 26.
Police recovered from them 22 sachets of suspected shabu weighing five grams, and valued at P34,000.
