At least three firms have indicated that they are interested in bidding for the proposed P1.2 billion Negros Occidental Bulk Water Supply Project (NBWSP) through a PPP scheme.

According to Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, the three are Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc., Manila Water Company Inc., and Balibago Waterworks System Inc.

The 3 firms had purchased the bid documents related to the Negros Occidental Bulk Water Supply Project (NBWSP), Diaz said.

With the provincial government pursuing the PPP project for bulk water supply, Diaz said this will address the water shortage in the local government units in Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City.

The bulk water project involves the financing, engineering design, construction, operation, and maintenance of a bulk water supply system with a minimum capacity of 34.5 million liters per day to be sourced from the Imbang River and/or the Malogo River in Talisay City.

The provincial government is accepting applications from other interested parties until January 31, with the pre-selection of bidders being scheduled for February 7.
