Get ready for an electrifying experience this October in Bacolod City, as ten vibrant barangays gear up for the highly anticipated 44th MassKara Festival street dance and arena competition.

Among the participants are Barangays Granada, Sum-ag, Tangub, 34, Vista Alegre, Mansilingan, Cabug, 40, Handumanan, and 21.

This year’s MassKara Festival is set to be a remarkable spectacle, with the event being managed by the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation.

In an exciting development, each participating barangay will receive a substantial subsidy of P750,000, the foundation announced during its press presentation on Saturday, August 26.

This substantial increase from last year’s P500,000 reflects a commitment to celebrating community spirit and artistic expression. The subsidy will be generously funded, with P300,000 coming from the foundation and an additional P200,000 from the city government, it added.

Adding to the excitement, the festival will feature the Masskara Elektrika Diva and Electric Float Parade and Competition.

Ten entries, including Barangays 5, 32, 18, Felisa, 14, Bata, 19, 24, Singcang, and 12, will captivate audiences with dazzling displays of creativity and innovation.

Drawing inspiration from Rio de Janeiro, this year’s event will spotlight electric divas dancing atop stunning electric floats. Each participating barangay in this category will receive a subsidy of P300,000. Non-competing orporate floats are also expected to join the magical Electric MassKara.

The festivities is set to open on October 6.
