The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) has approved a resolution granting Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez authority to sign the contracts of service entered into by and between the City of Bacolod and six persons, which include two former councilors of the city, who ran under Benitez but lost.

Budget Officer Ma. Imelda Williams certified that there are available funds for the Other Professional Services Account of the City Mayor’s Office, intended for the contracts of service of the following: former councilors Bartolome Orola Sr. and Sonia Verdeflor, Patrick Lacson, Lizel de las Alas, Emmylou Iman, and Maria Louie Jomero.

Orola, Verdeflor and Lacson ran under the Asenso Bacolod ticket of Benitez during the May 2022 elections, but lost.

Under the contracts of service, Orola, Verdeflor, and Lacson will receive a monthly pay of P50,000 each, while De las Alas will be paid P40,000 and Iman and Jomero will be paid P80,000 and P50,000, respectively.

The contracts of service will cover the period July 1 to December 31 for Orola, Verdeflor, and Lacson, and June 1 to August 31 for De las Alas, Iman, and Jomero.

The resolution was passed with a vote of 14-0, with two SP members abstaining.
