Search continues for missing boy in Sipalay

The search for a 14-year-old boy who was swept away by a strong current in Campomanes Bay on Sunday continues, Dionelo Rodero Bogate of Sipalay Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office said.

Bogate said a number of search and rescue teams were deployed yesterday, September 16, to continuously search the area. A team from Philippine Coast Guard has also joined the operation.

The minor whose name is being withheld by Negros News Online, and a resident of Barangay Maricalum, Sipalay City, went missing while swimming with three other children in the area. His 2 minor companions and 18-year old Raynold Medes were rescued on Sunday.

PCG southern Negros acting commander ENS. James Carbajosa, said that the search will resume on today, September 17.
