San Carlos City government officially turned over the newly constructed Home Economics (H.E.) Building of Bairan Elementary School in Barangay Buluangan to the Department of Education (DepEd) yesterday, July 28.
Representing City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo was Project Engineer John Leur Virtucio of the City Engineering Department; led the turnover of the ₱3.4 million facility.
The building consists of two rooms and one comfort room; constructed from February to May 2025 and funded through the city’s Special Education Fund (SEF).
Reverend Father Dionesio A. Nacario Jr. of Brgy. Buluangan Mission Station officiated the blessing of the said building.
OIC Schools Division Superintendent Ma. Theresa P. Geroso, CESO VI said maintenance of the building is important, so it could still serve future generations of teachers and students.
She also commended city officials for their continued support of education and the dedication of Bairan Elementary School’s teachers who often traverse rivers and remote areas to deliver quality education.
Head Teacher III Renato T. Ponce of Bairan Elementary School thanked Mayor Gustilo, the City Engineering Department and DepEd for the said project that addressed a critical need of their school.
Also present during the turnover ceremony were Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Heidelyn Geromiano, Curriculum Implementation Division Chief Jessie Batosin, PSDS Cluster 7 Dee Marie J. Dela Victoria, and Andres Bonifacio Central School Principal Leonardo U. Dumago Jr.
