At a time when travel and most vacation plans are restricted due to the ever changing quarantine status brought by the coronavirus, the City of San Carlos is opening an infinity pool within the government-owned People’s Park for local tourists.
The local government of San Carlos held the blessing ceremony and soft-opening of the infinity pool late afternoon, of yesterday, August 23.
Architect Kimbie Acabal-Ursal of City Planning and Development Coordinators Office (CPDCO) said that the whole project which costs P9,123,034.38 is still unfinished. The project which was funded under the development fund for tourism for year 2018-2019 include the construction of the swimming pool, installation of filtration system and accessories, sunken bar and lounging area and pump room. The construction commenced last March 2019 as part of the improvement of the whole park which is still on- going.
Ursal said that they still have more plans for the said structure to include additional drinking bars and expanding the area even more once additional budget is approved.
The new structure which is overlooking the Sipaway island was blessed by Bishop Gerardo Alminaza, together with local officials led by City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo. Also present were Dr. Archilles Ponferrada, Focal Person of San Carlos City Cultural Heritage Council and Head of the People’s Park Management Office, Vice Mayor Christopher Paul Carmona, Sangguniang Panlungsod Members Philip Gerard Maisog, Committee on Tourism, Benito Gustilo Jr. and Dr.Wilmer Yap.
