San Carlos City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo led the inoculation of senior citizens early today May 14, at the City Mayors Office.
Two types of vaccines were used in the said inoculation. Mayor Gustilo was inoculated with Sinovac while the rest of the seniors used AstraZeneca as their first dose which took place at the City Hospital.
The Department of Health allocated 800 vaccines to the city which was divided between San Carlos City and San Carlos Doctor’s Hospital.
Senior Citizens were master listed with the Barangay Health Workers (BHW) who also took charge of gathering and bringing them to the city hospital for the actual inoculation.
Gustilo appealed to the people that they should register so they could be inoculated because it’s for the betterment of everybody.
“If we achieve the herd immunity, who knows we will go back to our normal lives”, Gustilo said.
City Administrator, Atty. Estefanio Libutan Jr. was also inoculated saying that he decided to have himself vaccinated because of the exponential growth of COVID positives in the locality.
Libutan cited that he was really scared as senior citizen since he is vulnerable to the virus after many employees in the city hall were infected with COVID-19.
He encouraged everybody especially the senior citizens to avail the vaccination program of the local government unit of San Carlos City.
