The City Waterworks Department (CWD) of San Carlos has started developing new water source at the Nursery Park in San Julio Subdivision to boost water production and address the growing demand.

Engr. Aris Yap, City Government Assistant Department Head I, OIC of CWD said the drilling project costs a total of P3,180,000.00 sourced from the 20% Development Fund calendar years 2020-21 in which excavation of 350 ft deep has already started last January 14, 2022.

Yap also said that they are working to improve the quality of water service by looking for long-term solutions such as developing more water sources especially for the city hospital to assure sufficiency of supply including the future site of the city sports complex.

Yap added that common problem encountered among water service providers is water turbidity which they try to address with careful studies and skills.

CWD assures the public that it follows the Philippine National Standard for Drinking Water (PNSDW) through regular quality monitoring like water sampling, chlorination and conduct of laboratory analysis to ensure reliability and public safety.

As of now, the city has 8 active deep wells which include Pump 2, Pump 4, Baticulan, Florentino, Santa Ana, Bodiawe, Aglolood Spring, South Villa 3, Medina Deep Well and the Water Treatment Plant that serve as major source of water supply in the city.
