San Carlos flood victims get jobs

In San Carlos City, at least 109 flood-affected residents from Barangays 1, 5 and Rizal will start working thru the TUPAD Program before the end of February, 2021.

Erel Lim, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in-charge said the program is a national fund from the office of Senator Joel Villanueva passed on to the city and implemented thru the said DOLE program.

Each beneficiary will be working under a ten-day employment program with the region’s minimum wage of P395 per day for 4 hours. They will work on community gardening, unclogging of canals and cleaning their respective community area.

Budget of the said program is at P500,000 including that of the Personal Protective Equipment such as green long sleeves, gloves, masks and hats that were also distributed to the beneficiaries.

Rizaldo Ramirez TUPAD beneficiary of Barangay I, said he is grateful for their barangay captain and officials, especially to City Mayor Renato Gustilo for helping them thru the program. He added that the money that he will get from work will be used to repair his house and buy other necessities.

Said beneficiaries were chosen by their punong barangays and were evaluated by the DOLE Region 6.
